Dan Siegel on Parenting for the 21st Century

I'm not trained to work with children as a counselor, but my psychotherapy clients have children and often have questions about being a parent. I know that the mindfulness practices we typically include in our work will help them be better parents.

Much of what I know about mindfulness in psychotherapy, I've learned from Dr. Dan Siegel. I'm 100% confident referring my clients to Dan's work on parenting. The Whole Brain Child and Parenting from the Inside Out are two of his books that I highly recommend.

If you like video learning, here are parts one and two of Dan speaking with Studio 4 host Fanny Kiefer about Parenting for the 21st Century.

  1. Hi Catherine,

I also am excited by Dan Siegel's work. I work with families and women, and I have used his newest book (co-authored with Tina Payne Bryson), The Whole-Brain Child with ALL my clients. It's accessible reading with pictures, drawings and cartoons! Highly recommend it.

I invite you to visit my blogs as they are centered on mindfulness... judithbarnard.wordpress.com. Thanks for introducing me to your blog!

    Best,

    Judith
